Friday faves

I don’t know if it is the yellowing grass on our dog walks or the slight chill in the air in the evenings but I’ve been enjoying Autumnal colours, which are represented in my Friday round up of the stuff that has inspired me this week.

My sister’s wedding last month was held in a field and all the guests camped out overnight. We stayed in a caravan for a few nights either side of the wedding and I am now obsessed with the idea of having our own. What better way to zip off and enjoy a night here and night there away from home (I hate camping in a tent, you see)? So, when I saw Artemis’s vintage caravan renovation project I knew I was going to love it and I was not disappointed. You must have a look – so inspiring what you can do yourself when you put your mind to it.

Trying to enjoy the last days in the sun and spending time outside I’m appreciating the remaining greens on our daily walks and so these new designs by Abigail Borg for Ahlens really caught my eye (and they would be perfect for my new caravan!). A celebration of nature, inspired by her parents’ English garden, these beautiful bold illustrations with a Scandi feel are perfect. These designs are only available from Swedish store Ahlens but Abigail has had requests to sell to customers here so if you are interested you can contact her directly: contact@abigailborg.com.

Friday faves | Apartment Apothecary

There have been a few evenings this week when I have reached for my favourite cable knit blanket from Dot and Tom. I can not recommend this company enough – the quality and softness of the blankets is something else.

This weekend we are hoping to make the most of the last few weeks of the Midnight Apothecary for yummy cocktails (and mocktails for me). This secret garden just down the road from me is the best bar in London with a fire pit, marshmallows, a food stall and a tour of an underground tunnel shaft underneath the Thames designed by Brunel. But ssssh – don’t tell too many people about it as it is too special for hoards of people to descend 😉

Last weekend I worked on a home tour photo shoot with Katharine Peachey and I soaked up lots of interiors inspiration. I always come home with major house envy after home tour shoots and want to change everything in my own home – loving the mid century vibe of this original sixties flat with the most amazing architectural features.

This week I was treated to a preview of The White Company’s ‘The Artist Studio’ Autumn collection. The pear, quince and amber scented candle is perfect and makes me look forward to those long, cosy evenings of next season.

Another thing I’ve been pleased about this week is reeping my first harvest of tomatoes from our plant (sun gold variety is the best by the way). This tomato tarte tatin recipe by Anna Jones needs to be made!

And lastly, if you are thinking of doing an Autumn ‘refresh’ at home what about the Autumn Goddess limited edition print from The Future Kept that I have in my living room? Pop over to have a look (there’s a Spring and Summer print too).

Hope you all had a great week and let’s all try to ignore the rain this weekend!

Katy x
